Liverpool released four senior players following the close of the 2025/26 season, with a number of academy talents also departing.
While the likes of Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate’s departures are blows for the Reds and will likely require them to dip into the transfer market to strengthen their squad, Mohamed Salah’s exit was by far and away the biggest.
Salah cemented himself as one of the all-time Anfield greats during a prolific stint with the club, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Egyptian talent. On that front, Rousing The Kop have compiled a tracker to keep up with where every released player ends up next and how they fare for their new clubs.
Which former Liverpool player do you want to see on Andoni Iraola’s coaching staff?
Both are free and available…
Mohamed Salah
Salah has told his agent he wants to stay in Europe after leaving Liverpool, but with the winger currently competing at the 2026 World Cup, a move does not appear close at this stage.
The Saudi Pro League have been heavily linked with the forward, and they are probably best placed when it comes to affording his wages. But if the Reds icon wants to keep playing at the highest level, a move to the Middle East seems unlikely.
Andy Robertson
Tottenham Hotspur agreed a deal to sign Robertson as a free agent on June 5, with the Scottish full-back set to become a Spurs player from July 1.
The defender could face off with his now former side for the first time on December 19 in the Premier League.
Ibrahima Konate
After months of speculation about signing a new contract with Liverpool, Konate wasted little time agreeing terms to join Real Madrid this summer.
The Frenchman has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Los Blancos, whom he will officially join on July 1.
