Liverpool’s forward line has undergone some huge changes since the Jurgen Klopp era.

For years, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah made up one of the most dominant front threes in world football.

But with Salah now gone, the Reds have been tasked with rebuilding their forward line back to its former glory, and Andreas Schjelderup is a player who has now come onto Liverpool’s radar.

Liverpool interested in Andreas Schjelderup as he impresses for Norway

At present, the winger is away on international duty with Norway at the 2026 World Cup.

He came off the bench earlier this week to help his side secure a huge 3-2 win over Sadio Mane’s Senegal.

Now, Italian outlet Tuttomercato Web have provided an update on the future of the Reds target.

They say that the right-footed left winger could have a price tag of somewhere around €30m.

It is also understood that all of Liverpool, Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, FC Barcelona, AC Milan and Como have an interest in the player.

Andreas Schjelderup backed to join a big club

He is currently on the books of Benfica, for whom he scored 10 and assisted seven in 43 matches last season.

After such an impressive campaign, former Premier League midfielder Michael Essien praised Schjelderup highly and suggested the ‘sky is the limit’ for him.

Speaking in May 2026, he said: “Schjelde has everything to take even bigger steps. The sky’s the limit. He can play for the biggest clubs in the world. Personally, I’d like to see him at Real Madrid or another big club.”

But while Schjelderup does look to be a promising talent, it is hard to see why Liverpool would want to sign him this summer.

They have already secured the services of Victor Munoz, who is a natural left winger.

The Reds also need to ensure that Rio Ngumoha is offered a suitable pathway to becoming a regular starter off the left, so adding another player in his position wouldn’t make a lot of sense.
