Bradley Barcola is one of Liverpool’s primary targets to bolster their attacking options this summer, as they continue to mull over a new bid for Yan Diomande.
The Reds have made a big offer for Diomande, and there were initial suggestions that this could mean an end to their pursuit of Barcola.
However, there has been a renewed feeling in recent days that Liverpool may try and sign Diomande and Barcola after all, with journalist Fabrizio Romano now confirming that having put contract talks with PSG ‘on standby’, the Frenchman definitely has a chance of joining the Reds.

Barcola’s future is ‘absolutely open’
With Liverpool supporters not completely convinced of a move for Diomande, Barcola has suddenly started to look like a much more attractive option.
Throughout the summer so far, Romano has given plenty of encouragement over the 23-year-old arriving at Anfield, repeatedly urging fans to keep him in mind.
He continued that campaign on Monday evening, suggesting on his YouTube channel that Liverpool are currently ahead of Arsenal for Barcola, and that the forward is not likely to be extending his stay with PSG.

“Bradley Barcola is on Arsenal’s shortlist for sure, he’s one of the winger’s appreciated, but Barcola is also in the list at Liverpool,” said Romano.
“Liverpool keep a close eye on the situation of Barcola. They like the player, he was on the shortlist in 2025 and remains on the shortlist in 2026. The feeling on this story is that it’s absolutely open at the moment. Depending also what Paris Saint-Germain want to do.
“What I can say on Barcola, based on all the rumours that Barcola will stay at PSG, he won’t go anywhere, it’s important to clarify that to my understanding at the moment, the negotiations between PSG and Barcola over a new contract are completely, completely on standby.
“PSG and Barcola are not advancing on any deal and that is why his situation remains one to watch in this summer transfer window, according to my information. Let’s see what happens with Liverpool, with Arsenal and eventually with more clubs.”
Barcola does still have an agreement for two more years with PSG, but as Liverpool continue to be strongly linked with a move, it feels more likely that he’ll leave this summer.
