Liverpool fans urge Reds to walk away from Yan Diomande deal after hearing RB Leipzig demands

Liverpool supporters do not believe that Yan Diomande is worth paying the €120m asking price for this summer.

The Reds had a €100m offer turned down for Diomande on Thursday, with reports since claiming that another €20-30m may be needed to do a deal with RB Leipzig.

But while some appear to be desperate for Liverpool to simply stump up the cash and buy one of the biggest talents in world football, fans on Rousing The Kop‘s Facebook page are less convinced, urging the Reds to walk away and look for better value elsewhere.

Now the fixtures have been revealed, do you think Liverpool will win the Premier League in 26/27?

Liverpool fans wary of Diomande as Alexander Isak 2.0

Liverpool’s list of Diomande alternatives has been revealed, and although none of the four players are really on the Ivorian’s level, they won’t be anything like as costly as him either.

As a result, when told that Leipzig are reportedly looking for at least €120m to sell Diomande, RTK readers have urged Liverpool to think again.

“Barcola or Rafael Leao will do. Liverpool must simply walk away,” one supporter said. “He is a good lad with the energy Liverpool needs but 120m is just too much. They’re exaggerating him ‘cus they’re aware he is in real demand.”

“Please please Liverpool don’t repeat the Wirtz and Isak scenario. Move away and find other wingers if they charge this player exorbitant price,” someone else agreed.

“The money is too much, I don’t even like the player,” one more added, with another fan saying Liverpool should: “Simply just walk away.”

“It is better to buy two players with this money than investing on a single player,” was someone else’s view. “It helps us to increase the squad depth as well. For a player with no experience with the Premier League this money is too much. What if he’s injured at the beginning of the season? So better to search two average players.”

“If it’s to me, I would walk away and go get Minteh from Brighton,” another fan argued, with others commenting that Liverpool should ‘walk away’ from the negotiating table.

“This looks like another Isak deal,” one supporter said, burned by the Swede’s high-cost, low output deal from Newcastle last summer.

How excited are you by Liverpool’s surprise signing of Victor Munoz?

And what do you think his role will be next season? Is he an immediate starter?

“I don’t know when Liverpool will learn their lesson,” another fumed. “Another overpricing just like Florian Wirtz and Isak. I watch him play for Ivory Coast, he’s an average player not more than 25m.”

“That’s a lot of money on an over-hyped player,” someone else summed up, with the general view being that Liverpool could be about to get ripped off again.
