In turn, a number of Europe’s elite clubs are looking at Szoboszlai. But Liverpool have no plans to sell, and instead think that Adam Wharton is the ideal partner for the ex-RB Leipzig man and Ryan Gravenberch heading into next term.

Liverpool have plans to sign a midfielder, with ‘calls’ said to have been made for players recently.
Exactly who those players were was not clear, but a report from TeamTalk has shed some light on the Reds’ plans regarding both Szoboszlai and Wharton.
It is said that Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG have all shown interest in Liverpool’s versatile midfielder.
However, the Merseyside outfit have made it clear that he is not for sale this summer.
Instead, they are planning to strengthen their midfield ranks and ‘the club’s recruitment team view Wharton as the ideal midfield addition to complement a core built around Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch’.

Alexis Mac Allister’s dad speaks on son’s future
If Wharton is viewed as an option to play alongside Szoboszlai and Gravenberch, that may well push Alexis Mac Allister down the pecking order.
The Argentine played the majority of games in 2025/26 but was not at his best for large periods.
Speculation around Mac Allister’s future has emerged in 2026, but when asked about his son recently, the player’s dad was coy.
He said: “Alexis is very well prepared to play the World Cup. Before playing a World Cup, a player’s future cannot be analysed or discussed.”
