Rio Ngumoha is the brightest young prospect at Anfield right now, but his future has been cast into doubt.
Reports have emerged heading into the weekend that Bayern Munich have been in contact with the teenager about a move.
Losing Ngumoha would be a blow, but Liverpool are clear that the winger is not for sale. Meanwhile, Andy Robertson has already predicted the Englishman will have a bright future ‘with us’.
How much would it take for Liverpool to decide Ngumoha should be sold?
Surely if the bid was big enough they'd have to at least think about it…
Andy Robertson predicted Rio Ngumoha to have a bright future at Liverpool
Speaking back in September 2025, Robertson heaped praise on Ngumoha and said he thought the forward would have a bright future on Merseyside.
He stated: “He’s brilliant. He’s so level-headed and that is clear to see. He’s got a bit of fight about him as well.
“He’s not scared to have a little bit of fire in training and that is what you want. Off the pitch he is so respectful to us and only wants to improve, and that is all you can ask of the young lads.
“He’s a huge asset for us, you’ve seen that today as the manager trusts him in a big game like this. He was trusted to come on and make a difference for us.
“He definitely has a big future for us, but the here and now does not look too bad either.”

Sacking Arne Slot should keep Rio Ngumoha at Liverpool
When talk about Bayern wanting Ngumoha emerged, it was said that the German side had been talking to the player’s camp in May.
Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but if it was, it seems like talks began when Arne Slot was still in charge.
Had Slot stayed, it would not have been surprising to see Ngumoha push harder for a move, given the Dutchman did not play youngsters often and only really gave the 17-year-old a proper run in the team when injuries forced his hand.
However, Andoni Iraola works much better with young stars, and his arrival should hopefully convince Liverpool’s rising star to remain at Anfield.
