Liverpool remain in the race for Yan Diomande as they aim to replace Mohamed Salah, but may be running out of time to do a deal.
Diomande has been linked with an Anfield switch for much of the 2025/26 season.
In the last week or so, PSG have joined the race for the RB Leipzig forward after his impressive campaign in Germany, and it has now emerged that he wants a deal done before the World Cup gets underway.

Yan Diomande wants transfer before World Cup
The World Cup officially gets underway on June 11, while Diomande’s Ivory Coast, after a friendly with France on June 4, are first in action on June 15.
Now, speaking via his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has said that both the player and his camp want to secure a move before then.
He also detailed the interest of both Liverpool and PSG, adding that Bradley Barcola’s situation is one to watch.
Romano said: “Is he going to Liverpool or not? Look, Liverpool are in negotiations with Yan Diomande’s camp. So, Liverpool are on it for Yan Diomande for sure. PSG are on it as well. PSG are speaking with the player’s camp and PSG have genuine interest in Yan Diomande. So, the battle is on but PSG are there. PSG want Diomande because as I told you, the Barcola situation is one to watch.
“So Diomande is very high on the list of Liverpool and very high on the list of PSG. I can tell you that the preference on player’s side and on player’s camp would be to do the deal fast before the start of the World Cup for Ivory Coast.”
Who would you rather see at Liverpool next season, Diomande or Barcola? 🤔

Liverpool’s alternative to Yan Diomande
Should Liverpool miss out on Diomande to PSG, which may well happen given their newfound appeal under Luis Enrique, who has guided them to two Champions Leagues, the Reds’ alternative seems obvious.
Barcola has been linked for a while as well, and as Romano suggested, the Frenchman could be on the move this summer.
Anthony Gordon has joined FC Barcelona instead, so he won’t be coming in to replace the winger in Paris.
But if Diomande moves to Ligue 1, that would allow Barcola to be sold and Liverpool would surely sign him instead.
