Arne Slot sack plea sent to FSG by former player after Liverpool draw with Brentford

Liverpool ended their season with a 1-1 draw against Brentford, playing out a disappointing 90 minutes of football.

That is something we have seen far too many times under Arne Slot, who has guided the club to 12 Premier League losses this year.

Yes, Liverpool made it into the Champions League, but that was only because there were five places and the teams below them were not good enough. In turn, it is perhaps not surprising to see Jermaine Pennant questioning why FSG are not sacking Slot.

Does that just about the sum the season up?

A limp performance and another draw at Anfield. Thoughts?

Jermaine Pennant says Brentford draw should be final nail for Arne Slot

The former Liverpool player took to social media towards the end of Sunday’s game and offered a scathing verdict on the manager.

Pennant suggested the Reds will not win anything with Slot in charge next season and claimed the Brentford display should be the final straw for him.

He stated: “The board cannot be sitting in the directors’ box watching this absolute garbage, and think and talk amongst themselves, and come to the conclusion that this manager will be challenging for silverware next season!!!

“Hanging on to Brentford. This should be the nail in the coffin.”

With Arne Slot expected to stay, will Liverpool challenge for the Premier League next season?

Or will it be another difficult campaign? 😬

Arne Slot planning for the summer transfer window

Yet despite most fans wanting the manager out, Slot is already planning for next season.

Speaking prior to this weekend’s game, he commented on Liverpool’s transfer plans, the couple of signings they could make and how they will be better next term.

He said: “But it should not all be about the one or two players we might bring in. It’s also definitely about evolving the ones we brought in last season and the ones we already have longer.

“And I think there’s a lot to be won for us to win in things we can improve compared to this season. And one of the things, of course, is having players available. But the second thing, we have to do better defensively and offensively.

“And hopefully signing one or two players can even accelerate that evolution.”

That does not sound like a manager who thinks his job is in any kind of danger.
