Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has already received transfer interest in 2026, with Serie A outfit Inter Milan among those linked.

Inter Milan were linked with Jones back in the January transfer window amid a lack of game time under Arne Slot.

He has since been used out of position at right-back in recent weeks, but with his contract expiring at the end of June, talk of a move to Italy remains, and he could now be joined by Ibrahima Konate.

Inter Milan mooted to make dream Ibrahima Konate move

Journalist Marco Barzaghi commented on interest in the French centre-back via his YouTube channel.

Speaking about potential transfers for Inter Milan, he said: “The names are the usual ones: Solt, Muaremovic, and also watch out for a possible dream move involving Konate if he doesn’t end up renewing.

“That deal with Liverpool, which looked basically done, is now taking longer than expected.

“We’re keeping an eye on all the different options. The transfer window hasn’t even started yet, and we’re already in full hype mode, ready for things to heat up.”

At present, Konate is due to become a free agent at the end of June 2026 despite previous suggestions that a deal was close.

Why hasn’t Ibrahima Konate signed a new contract with Liverpool?

Konate spoke out about his contract last month, giving hints that he was going to pen fresh terms.

A further report then suggested that Liverpool have ‘doubts’ about offering the stopper a new contract.

Meanwhile, David Lynch gave a new Konate future update early this week, and everything still seems to be very much up in the air.

He said: “I don’t know if I would say that [he’s nailed on to leave] on the basis that the player wants to stay. That is 100 per cent my understanding, that the player would like to stay at Liverpool. That would be his preference and it has been all along. He still wants to stay.

“I’ve had conversations this week, I was told a couple of days ago that this period was crucial, the next 48 hours or so, in fact I better check in on that today to see where that’s up to! But the sense I’m getting from this is that the club are making a decision that they don’t want to go down that route maybe, that’s why they’re leaving their options open.”
