Arne Slot is about to be sacked by Liverpool says Richard Keys, and he’s ‘more convinced than ever’

Arne Slot’s future at Liverpool has been brought into question yet again following Friday night’s dismal defeat against Aston Villa.

It has generally been accepted that Slot is likely to remain at Anfield into next season, no matter how much fans do not like the decision.

That feeling was amplified after Chelsea announced the hiring of Xabi Alonso on Sunday, the man seen by many as the prime candidate to replace Slot.

What did you make of Salah’s explosive statement before his last game for the club?

This sounds like it was aimed at Slot…

But while Alonso’s move to Stamford Bridge may have resigned most fans to the fact that the Dutchman will not leave, beIN SPORTS presenter Richard Keys has a different view, claiming that Mohamed Salah’s explosive Saturday night statement hints that Slot is going to go.

Keys believes Liverpool problems will lead to Slot’s exit

Everybody knows there have been problems at Liverpool this season, it did not need Salah’s petulant statement to confirm that.

Nevertheless, Keys has used the Egyptian’s comments as evidence that Slot is not going to survive the summer as Liverpool head coach.

“What he said is damning, but what’s going on behind it is more-so for me,” said the former Sky Sports anchor.

“There are some serious issues in and around the dressing room. As a group the players appear, for me reading that, to have lost faith in the coach.

“Did eight of his playing colleagues like it? I’ve said for some time I don’t think he’ll be in charge next season and I’m more convinced about that than ever.”

Despite Keys’ conviction, there are no concrete signs to suggest that Slot is about to lose his job.

With Alonso off the market, there are several managers who Liverpool could still turn to, but unless there is a major sea change coming, it should be expected that Slot will remain in charge and perhaps hope that some of the problems leave with Salah,
