It has not been the loudest day on the Liverpool transfer front, but there are still a few interesting strands to keep an eye on.
Liverpool are heading into a summer where major names could leave, fresh targets are being assessed, and the manager market continues to hover over everything despite FSG’s current stance on Arne Slot.
The window approaches, and so the urgency increases. It’s time for Liverpool to get their summer plans sorted.
You can only pick ONE player for Liverpool to sign this summer, who is it?
Who should Richard Hughes be targeting above all…
Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Xabi Alonso, Lamine Camara and Sandro Tonali are all involved in today’s recap.
Liverpool transfer round-up
Salah is set to leave Liverpool this summer, and another possible destination has now emerged.
The Saudi Pro League has long been viewed as the obvious route, with Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad both linked again recently. However, Fenerbahce are now said to have put forward an offer worth around €20m a year for the Egyptian.
That would keep Salah in Europe, while still giving him a huge contract at the age of 33.
There is also a potential twist to the Turkish tale, involving Van Dijk. Galatasaray have been linked with the Liverpool captain, who has one year left on his deal and is attracting serious interest from across the continent.
It feels unlikely that both moves happen, but the idea of Salah and Van Dijk lining up on opposite sides of the Istanbul rivalry next season is a fun one. Although, Liverpool can’t afford to lose the Dutchman.

Elsewhere, the Xabi Alonso situation is still dominating the headlines.
Chelsea have been linked with Alonso, and there appears to be at least some movement around that possibility. But Alonso’s Liverpool connection continues to dominate the conversation.
Guillem Balague has suggested he could even take time out and wait for the Anfield job, while Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol has described it as an open secret that Liverpool is Alonso’s dream destination.
The issue, of course, is that the job is not available.
Liverpool have not made a move for Alonso, and all current indications suggest Slot will be given more time. That could mean Alonso ends up elsewhere, even if plenty of supporters would rather see FSG act now.
Finally, Newcastle are pushing hard for Lamine Camara.
Liverpool have watched the Monaco midfielder closely, but Newcastle now appear to be showing the strongest intent. Camara is valued at around £39m and looks a strong Premier League fit.
Which elite former target do you wish you could bring to Anfield? 💭
If Newcastle land Camara, it could make them more flexible on Sandro Tonali. The Italian remains publicly part of their long-term plans, but interest from bigger clubs has not gone away.
Liverpool should not be too worried about losing the Camara race if it gives them an opening on Tonali.
