Mohamed Salah has seen so many Liverpool players come and go since joining the club nine years ago.
The Egyptian is all set to depart at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on what has been a glorious period of success at Anfield.
Salah‘s exit is the latest in a long line of legendary players from the Jurgen Klopp era to go, starting with Gini Wijnaldum’s departure in 2021, and coming right up to the present day.
How much better would Liverpool have been if they’d hired an interim manager in January❓🔄
With the likes of Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Joel Matip and plenty more leaving since, Liverpool fans have been saying an emotional goodbye to a star player on what has felt like a yearly basis.
Last year came the turn of Trent Alexander-Arnold, and while it may have been decidedly mixed emotions for supporters saying goodbye to one of their own, Salah has admitted that the right-back leaving was the only one which brought him to tears.
Salah cried when Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool
By the time Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool as a two-time Premier League title winner, many fans had turned against him.
The players were visibly still on the Scouser’s side, though, and after watching Alexander-Arnold pay tribute to him in a farewell video from Sky Sports, Salah has admitted that he was especially emotional.

“He’s the only person I cried when he left the club,” the Egyptian smiled, cutting across some well wishes from Liverpool’s former No. 66.
“I cried with his mum. Me, him and his mum. I was crying.”
Alexander-Arnold pays tribute to Salah
It is easy to understand why Salah was so emotional to say farewell to Alexander-Arnold. The pair had built an incredibly strong bond down Liverpool’s right side over eight years playing together.
Salah was there through virtually the whole of the academy graduate’s career in the first-team, and saw him develop from being a talented teenager into the best in the world in his position.

The legendary winger clearly means a lot to Alexander-Arnold as well, with the Real Madrid man delivering some heartfelt wishes.
“Hi Mohamed. It’s been a little bit of a while since we’ve seen each other, and I just wanted to say that I miss you every day,” said the 27-year-old.
“I wish you the best in the future, you were always a very close friend of mine, a brother.”
With Sky reporter Patrick Davison confirming that Trent had been ‘desperate to be involved’ in the video, it is clear that he and Salah share a very special bond.
