Liverpool face the mammoth task of trying to replace Mohamed Salah’s goals and assists ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Shortly after the news broke that the Egyptian was leaving for free this summer, seven potential Salah replacements were mooted.
It then emerged that Francisco Conceicao was eyed as someone who could come in for the 33-year-old, with it said that ‘several youngsters like Yan Diomande or Francisco Conceicao are being monitored’.
However, Liverpool are not alone in showing an interest in the Juventus forward, with Manchester United also now mentioned as an option.

Manchester United and Liverpool interested in Francisco Conceicao
The 23-year-old has made 38 appearances for the Turin-based outfit this season, scoring four and assisting four.
Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti even commented on Conceicao’s comparisons to Salah this season.
He said: “The comparison with the early Salah is appropriate. Conceicao is still a young player and has things to learn. He needs to convince himself that he can also play more centrally.”
Now, Gazzetta Dello Sport have provided an update on the potential future of the Portuguese winger.
They say Liverpool and the Red Devils ‘have noticed’ the player, with the latter aiming to strengthen their squad now that they look set to be back in the Champions League for the 2026/27 season.
Juve, for their part, do not seem completely closed off to a sale of the winger, who is under contract until 2030.
It is thought that the Serie A giants would not accept anything ‘less than €25-€20 million more than his current budget (€25.6 million)’, which works out around £38.9m.

Liverpool’s most likely Mohamed Salah replacement
While Conceicao continues to be mentioned as an option to replace Salah at Anfield, he doesn’t seem to be the most likely signing for Liverpool.
Instead, Lewis Steele has suggested that Yan Diomande is the frontrunner to come in and is being spoken about in a similar way to last year’s summer additions, Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez.
He said: “Diomande is the name that keeps coming up and up and up in every conversation you have about recruitment.
“I’d say to the same level this time last year as Kerkez, Ekitike. Those names were so widely circulated at this time of year and they both ended up being ones that Liverpool signed.
“I don’t think anyone was surprised by them and I wouldn’t be surprised at all [if Diomande joins].”
