Mohamed Salah’s upcoming exit has been confirmed, and Liverpool are already looking at potential replacements for the Egyptian.

Fabrizio Romano stated shortly after news of Salah’s departure broke that the Reds will look at wingers this summer.

Another update claimed potential signings have been sounded out already, while a new report says West Ham United and England star Jarrod Bowen is among the possible options the Merseyside outfit could pursue.

Is Mohamed Salah Liverpool’s greatest EVER player?

Jarrod Bowen, Yan Diomande and more mooted to replace Mohamed Salah

Journalist Dean Jones shared the update when writing for FlashScore late on Tuesday evening.

Interestingly, a clear target does not appear to have emerged just yet, though it is said that Yan Diomande is ‘very much under consideration’.

Elsewhere, Desire Doue, Bradley Barcola and Nico Williams have all been monitored, while Michael Olise is given a mention as well.

But as we have covered previously, Olise is viewed as an unrealistic target for the Reds.

Finally, the seven-man list, which previously included Antoine Semenyo before he joined Manchester City, is rounded out by Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United and the aforementioned Bowen.

Discuss: Diomande has already proven he’s the BEST replacement for Mo Salah!

Jarrod Bowen could be a new leader at Liverpool

When you think of West Ham in recent years, it is hard to look past their standout player, Bowen.

Even during what has been a difficult 2025/26 campaign, the Englishman still has 10 goals and seven assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

Perhaps just as importantly, Graham Potter has previously praised Bowen for his leadership skills as captain.

Speaking in July 2025, as per BBC Sport, he called the player ‘fantastic’ and said: “He is a fantastic captain. How he has led the team, grown into the role and taken responsibility.

“He speaks so well to the players, with authority, calmness and respect.

“He is fantastic for West Ham. He understands the club and what is required and leads by example.”

With Salah currently one of the core members of Liverpool’s senior leadership team, replacing him with a player like Bowen could be a wise choice.
