Liverpool were able to enjoy a huge late win over Everton, but the result was not entirely positive for Arne Slot.
In a match that ended with celebrations after a dramatic finish, Giorgi Mamardashvili’s injury meant there was also a fresh concern for the Reds to deal with.
The goalkeeper was forced off after suffering what looked like a nasty issue, and that immediately put the spotlight on Liverpool’s options between the posts. With Alisson Becker already out, it’s a reminder of how quickly things can become complicated in one of the most important areas of the pitch.

Arne Slot fears Giorgi Mamardashvili could miss next week
Initially, there may have been some hope that Mamardashvili’s problem was more dramatic than serious.
But Slot’s post-match update suggested Liverpool are now waiting anxiously to discover whether the goalkeeper will be available in the short term.
Speaking in his press conference, Slot said: “Didn’t look great, it was a big wound, he went straight away to the hospital so let’s see how that will work out for him. I fear the worst, not the worst in a long-term injury but fear the worst for next week.”
Slot does not appear worried about a major long-term setback, but he clearly is concerned that Mamardashvili may not be ready for Liverpool’s next game.
How the table looks after Sunday’s MASSIVE win
Can Liverpool start planning the summer with Champions League football next year?
That would be far from ideal given Alisson is already missing. Freddie Woodman came in and did a solid job, but Liverpool will not want to rely on him for the rest of the season if they can avoid it.
The Reds have had no shortage of bad luck with injuries this season, so they will now hope Slot’s fears only stretch to next week and not beyond.
