Liverpool’s interest in Marc Guehi prior to his January transfer is also well documented, and Manchester City could now end up signing Givairo Read ahead of the Merseyside outfit as well.

Fabrizio Romano shared an update on Liverpool’s interest in Read during the winter window, but said a bid was not made as the right-back was out with a long-term injury.
He is now on his way back to action in the Netherlands, and City are expected to watch the player closely upon his return.
Sky Sports News reports that Pep Guardiola’s side are closely monitoring the right-back ahead of a possible move in the summer.
Man City are not guaranteed to strengthen at full-back in 2026, but it is a position they have been looking at for a while.
Should they indeed move for Read, he would become the third player the Manchester club have signed ahead of their Premier League rivals in the space of a year.

Arne Slot’s verdict on Givairo Read
Prior to his injury, the 19-year-old had one goal and three assists in 16 matches for Feyenoord this term.
While they did not spend much time together, Slot praised Read after he handed him his senior debut with the Eredivisie outfit back in 2023/24.
Speaking about the full-back at the time, the now Liverpool manager said: “He’s a boy who has been training with us since the winter break.
“We took him over from FC Volendam last summer. He first spent six months with Robin van Persie in the Under-18s.
“Read also has a number of qualities that I like. Fast footwork. [He is] also not afraid to play, which is important when you have to go to De Kuip.”
