Liverpool have six academy players away on international duty this week, with Kieran Morrison, Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni, Armin Pecsi, Kyle Kelly and Kornel Misciur all involved in important fixtures.
As we prepare for international action in the coming week, Liverpool have plenty of talent on duty. Not just senior players, but some of the best prospects at Kirkby, too.
Morrison is the standout name after earning a place in Northern Ireland’s squad for their World Cup play-off semi-final against Italy on Thursday, with the call-up coming off the back of his excellent form for the Reds’ U21s.
Is Mohamed Salah Liverpool’s greatest EVER player?
Nine years of sheer brilliance are coming to an end…
It is a deserved step for the forward, while the inclusion of Ngumoha and others is another positive sign for the strength of Liverpool’s young talent.
Liverpool quartet set for busy international schedule
Morrison has the biggest immediate opportunity of the four after being named in Northern Ireland’s squad for a senior fixture with genuine weight behind it.
Whether he makes his debut or not, the call-up is a clear reward for the level he has been producing at academy level. Morrison will be a big star for Liverpool.
Ngumoha and Nyoni are also set for a demanding week with England’s U19s. The pair will face Bulgaria on March 25, Spain on March 28 and Croatia on March 31 in three European Under-19 Championship qualifiers.

Misciur is away with Poland’s U19s and will be hoping for a strong week himself. Poland take on Republic of Ireland, Italy and Scotland across the same set of dates as England’s fixtures.
Kyle Kelly has also been called up by St. Kitts and Nevis for the FIFA Series in Indonesia, where they face Indonesia on Friday March 27 before a second game against either Solomon Islands or Bulgaria on Monday March 30.
Armin Pecsi is also away on international duty, with the Liverpool academy goalkeeper selected for a Hungary U21 camp that includes a friendly against Israel on Thursday March 26 and a European Championship qualifier against Ukraine on Tuesday March 31.
For Liverpool, it is another encouraging update from the academy ranks. Six players heading away for international duty is solid recognition, and Morrison’s senior call-up is especially exciting.
