Alphonso Davies could be heading for the exit door at Bayern Munich, and Liverpool have been approached.
One of the fastest players on the planet, Davies is a player most fans would love to see at Anfield.
The Canadian left-back has been out for some time with an ACL injury, but is back to full fitness now, and Bayern are assessing their options.
Despite extending his contract to 2030 just last month, the club don’t sound too locked in to his future in Germany.
Which players should Liverpool target to replace Mohamed Salah this summer? 🤔
Bayern Munich testing the market with Alphonso Davies
Liverpool have at least been made aware of a possible opening for Davies, with the Bayern Munich left-back said to have been offered to a number of Premier League clubs.
The Reds are among those mentioned in a report from TEAMtalk, which is no surprise given the expectation that they could look to strengthen at left-back this summer with Andy Robertson likely to leave Liverpool.
That idea was supported on Tuesday when Liverpool’s interest in Lewis Hall emerged.
The report on Davies does not go far enough to suggest Liverpool are pushing hardest or have moved beyond early interest. They are listed alongside Man United as the main contenders, though.
Intermediaries are testing the market, with several major English clubs alerted to the situation and Bayern open to the right offer rather than actively forcing a sale.
With the extension last month, any move would come with a significant fee. That being said, Bayern’s apparent indifference to the 25-year-old.

For Liverpool, that leaves Davies in the category of a serious name worth watching rather than an advanced pursuit.
He would clearly raise the level, but any deal would be expensive and heavily contested, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all also linked. At this stage, Liverpool appear to be in the frame, but not yet at the front of it.
