Amid heaps of speculation surrounding the future of Alisson Becker at Liverpool, Dominik Szoboszlai has made a point of reminding everyone just how much of an asset he is to the team.
Wednesday night at Anfield wasn’t the busiest for the Brazilian, who faced just one shot as Liverpool made light work of Galatasaray.
That didn’t stop Szoboszlai from giving the goalkeeper his flowers, though.

John Terry was wowed by Szoboszlai after his Player of the Match performance propelled Liverpool to the last eight of the Champions League. The midfielder has been one of Liverpool’s key figures this season.
Someone who has been a key figure for far longer, though, is Alisson. That’s a point Szoboszlai went out of his way to get across in the post-match fallout.
He told TNT Sports Brazil: “It just gives us confidence that we can attack, we can attack because it feels like he can save almost everything. So it’s really good to have Alisson in the goal. It’s a pleasure to play with him.
“He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world, I would say ever. So yeah, happy to have him in the back.”
It’s unlikely that Szoboszlai is simply playing up to the Brazilian audience he was speaking to. His assessment of Alisson is bang-on.
The 33-year-old has been a beacon of professionalism and an established world-class goalkeeper for most of his time at Anfield.
