Liverpool fans are ready to see the back of Alexis Mac Allister as he struggles to show his best.

The Argentine had been one of the Reds’ most consistent players during his first two seasons at Anfield, but his form has fallen off a cliff in 2025/26.

Jamie Carragher labelled Mac Allister as a ‘problem‘ for Liverpool during Sunday’s draw with Tottenham, and after the game Rousing The Kop asked supporters whether the No. 10 should be replaced. Not all were in favour, but those who were put forward some interesting successors.

Fans split over Mac Allister successor

Collecting responses from our new TalkingPoints platform as well as the RTK Facebook page, it is clear that many fans want to see a change in midfield.

Eduardo Camavinga could be available this summer, and the Real Madrid man was a popular option for supporters keen to see a new arrival.

“Player swap Mac Allister and E. Camavinga,” said one supporter. “Camavinga in available,” claimed another, with others commenting simply with the Frenchman’s name.

However, as another fan pointed out, there is a reason Camavinga is not playing for Real Madrid. “Whoever says Camavinga, he’s even worse, can’t stay fit,” they said.

Elliot Anderson could be another on the move, and some supporters felt the Nottingham Forest midfielder would be the right addition.

“Elliot Anderson,” said one. “Mac Allister is too short, too slow and spends half a game rolling around on the floor.”

“We need a DM whether Adam Wharton or Elliot Anderson or another,” someone else agreed. “We need to add to midfield and not lose anyone. Except probably Endo. We need quality that we can rotate. And more ball winners/defensively minded players to free up forward players.”

Reported former target Angelo Stiller was also given a nod, while others put forward the case of young Trey Nyoni to step straight in: “Nyoni… For the end of the season,” one fan said, with others also suggesting the 18-year-old might be a better option.

One supporter perhaps summed the mood up best, though, suggesting they simply want to see Liverpool field “someone who can run,” instead of Mac Allister.
