Meanwhile, several were also delighted to see several youngsters getting a chance: “Nallo coming on. Great stuff.”

A fourth added: “Get ahead and getting the youngsters on. Brilliant. Now Rio can get some game time.”

Trey Neyoni has golden chance to become Liverpool regular

Slot has previously said he feels sorry for Trey Neyoni, who has hardly featured this season.

Neyoni has been called ‘absolutely magnificent’ previously but until now, struggled to break into the team.

However, the 18-year-old midfielder may finally start playing regularly after the injury to Frimpong.

Liverpool now have no fit right-backs, which means a midfielder, likely Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai or Curtis Jones, will need to provide cover.

That could allow Neyoni to feature more in the Premier League over the coming weeks and possibly months, depending on how long Frimpong is out for.
