But after a week of speculation, it looks like Roma won’t allow Tsimikas to leave, with no viable replacement for the Greek international.
Robertson wants more playing time, which is why this deal has been explored, but his reaction to a stall in negotiations is exactly what you would have expected from the Liverpool legend.

In the eight seasons he has spent at Anfield, Robertson has always been a model example of how a professional footballer should behave.
Dedicated, motivated, unselfish.
He’s a team player, and not someone who will throw his toys out of the pram.
Discussing the latest developments in the Robertson saga, Ben Jacobs reveals on X: “Liverpool and Robertson relaxed about the situation, but if Roma find a left-back, Spurs’ move for the Scotland international could be back on. If not, Robertson will stay at Anfield.
“Robertson’s professionalism has been noted having been informed earlier this week the move to Spurs, originally planned for after the #UCL game against Qarabag, is not on at present.”
The Scot has been quite clear about his reasons for considering an exit. With the World Cup on the horizon, he wants to prepare in the best possible way. That means more minutes than he is currently getting under Arne Slot.
But if Liverpool can’t facilitate the move, Robertson will put his head down and contribute as best he can for the remainder of the season.

Despite the deal hitting a fairly significant roadblock, it hasn’t prevented the two Premier League clubs from putting an agreement in place.
If Robertson does in fact leave this month, it won’t be because of money.

Jacobs explains: “The terms of Andy Robertson’s move from Liverpool to Tottenham are agreed in principle for around £5m including add-ons. However, there is no sign off from Liverpool or Robertson yet.”
It’s not surprising to see such a low figure being discussed with just six months left on Robertson’s current deal.
It does, however, make this quite an easy decision for Liverpool. For the sake of £5 million, it’s not worth jeopardising the squad’s depth.
