Kieran Morrison has been tearing it up in Premier League 2 with five goals in his last five games, undoubtedly capturing the attention of Arne Slot.
The former Man United youth player has been steadily progressing since arriving at Anfield in 2019, but has exploded in 2025-26.
With the senior side’s current problems, Slot may not be paying too much attention to what’s going on at the lower levels at Liverpool, but Morrison’s form is impossible to ignore.

Morrison made his debut against Crystal Palace earlier this season as Liverpool crashed out of the Carabao Cup. He has eight goal involvements in ten games with the Under 21s, including a recent hat-trick against Arsenal.
Head coach Rob Page recently discussed Morrison’s progress, and what Slot thinks about the young attacking midfielder.

With how much Liverpool have struggled this season, there hasn’t been much room for developing academy talent at the senior level.
Slot lamented Trey Nyoni’s lack of minutes after he decided not to bring him on against Barnsley — possibly the last opportunity to do so with Brighton next up in the FA Cup.
Morrison has played just 66 minutes with the first team, but like Nyoni, he’s a player Slot likes. That’s according to Page, who told The Redmen TV’s Dan Clubbe: “Since I’ve been here now for six months, he’s shown an enormous amount of maturity. You know, he’s going to have little bumps in the road along the way, but I’m really pleased with the way he’s developing.
“You know, he’s been over with the first team and the gaffer likes him, he’s been over there, and he trains really well. So that’s all he can do, he can just keep trying to bring the best version of himself every day in training and then come game time like that, it becomes second nature for him.”
Morrison has been training with the first-team for a while now. Turning 20 next season, he will surely be looking for more opportunities.
The problem he has is that he wants to play in the same position as two of Liverpool’s best players, in Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz. That’s a tough proposition for any player, not least an academy graduate.
Next season could be huge for Morrison
Unless the Reds find themselves comfortably in the Champions League places in the final weeks of the season, it’s hard to see a route for Morrison into the side.
The FA Cup and Champions League are Liverpool’s only chance at salvaging this season.

If, however, he puts his head down and continues to look a cut above at the U21 level, Slot will have no choice but to give him a chance next year, starting in pre-season.
That is, if Slot is still the man in charge by then.
