Milos Kerkez asked about Liverpool players meeting amid Arne Slot doubts

After a weekend that left many doubting Arne Slot, a meeting was held between the players regarding Liverpool’s poor form.

Milos Kerkez was picked to address the media ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Marseille.

Kerkez is finding form for Liverpool, and he can be very happy with his personal development in recent months.

The team performance, though, has been a let-down. Slot was booed off at Anfield after the Burnley draw, and the players elected to have a meeting among themselves.

Which would you rather?

Milos Kerkez tight-lipped on player meeting

It was Virgil van Dijk who mentioned that a meeting would be had following Saturday’s performance. Not with Slot — just the players themselves.

Kerkez confirmed that a meeting took place, but wasn’t interested in shedding light on its contents.

As seen on Liverpool’s YouTube channel, he said: “I’ll keep it between us, the players. So I’m not really gonna say anything.

“I think it is important for us and we want to finish in the top 8 for last 16. We have to win two tough games for that.”

Not much of a surprise, but it does sound like an important moment in the dynamic of the dressing room.

As for Slot, he claimed to be unaware of all of it, instead discussing the post-game analysis they carried out as a team.

Liverpool players meeting could mean a few things

With Kerkez and Slot providing little insight, we can only speculate as to why that meeting took place.

To take an educated guess, it must have been about performances, but that doesn’t even narrow it down that much.

What would your response be to Virgil van Dijk?

It could, of course, have been an exercise to voice concerns with the manager. There is plenty to suggest Slot’s time at Liverpool could be running out.

That doesn’t really sound like something Van Dijk would arrange. It doesn’t sound very Liverpool at all.
