Liverpool fans are hoping for a change when their side travel to France for a Champions League meeting with Marseille.
The current Premier League champions have seen their form fall off a cliff in 2025/26.
Any hope of retaining the title has long since faded, and supporters have grown tired of the consistently poor performances.
This past weekend was no different, with Liverpool drawing 1-1 with Burnley at Anfield, exiting the field to a chorus of boos.
The best possible XI Slot can pick to get Liverpool fans back on side vs Marseille ⬇️
If anything is going to give fans some hope in the remainder of the campaign, it’s a potential run in the Champions League.
But ahead of the clash with Marseille, supporters are saying one regular starter should be dropped from the eleven.
Liverpool fans agree Curtis Jones not in best XI
Steve Nicol recently said he does not believe Curtis Jones is a starter in Liverpool’s best eleven.
Now, using Rousing The Kop’s TalkingPoints platform, fans have delivered similar verdicts on the Englishman.
One fan stated: “I’m with Stevie, I don’t think he’s good enough as a regular starter. Would like to see a proper defensive midfielder brought in to help push the midfield on again.”
“I agree with you! The best way to make Jones better is for him to be a bench impact player. If Chiesa isn’t good enough to start Jones definitely isn’t,” agreed a second.
Another thinks Jones is a squad player but should not be sold: “Yeah a squad player for sure, don’t want to sell him though.”
A fourth wrote: “Not much longer. The boy is a good squad player, and can really help the team when needed, but he’s not a star, and he’s not a starter. Period.”
While another added: “Jones is too inconsistent; unfortunately, a big midfield signing in the summer would be ideal. Wharton linked, but can’t see that happening really.”

Curtis Jones could leave Liverpool
Born in Liverpool, Jones has spent his entire career to date on the books of the North West outfit.
The 24-year-old has made over 200 senior appearances for the club, scoring 19 and assisting 23.
However, Jones has been inconsistent for some time, including in 2025/26 with three impressive performances followed by some mixed displays.
He is now in the final 18 months of his Liverpool contract and has begun to garner transfer interest from Tottenham Hotspur this month.
Whether Liverpool would actually be open to a winter sale is unclear, but it would make little sense given the lack of depth they have in midfield right now.
