Conor Bradley’s injury creates problems for Liverpool. Luckily, the transfer window is open.
Injuries have not been kind to the Reds so far this season, with Bradley just the latest to give Arne Slot a difficult gap to fill.
While Liverpool planned a quiet January, they may have to go back on their word.
It really depends on if you think Calvin Ramsay can step up. It sounds like the club aren’t sure, judging from reports coming out of Germany.
Is Conor Bradley Liverpool’s long-term right-back?
Liverpool eye Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Ryerson to replace Conor Bradley
Liverpool have been regular customers of the Bundesliga in recent seasons — players such as Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konate, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike came over from Germany.
To cover Bradley’s absence, Liverpool are looking at Julian Ryerson, an attack-minded right-back playing for Dortmund.

That’s according to Absolut Fussball, who reveal: “According to exclusive information from Absolut Fussball, the football portal of Home of Sports, the reigning English champions are considering Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Ryerson, among others.
“The Norwegian impressed in the Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt (3-3) as both a provider of assists and a powerful striker.”
Ryerson’s attacking numbers are impressive. He’s in the top 10% of full-backs in Europe’s top five leagues for shot-creating actions and successful take-ons, and he already has six assists for BVB in all competitions.
Head coach Niko Kovac loves Ryerson. The same outlet quotes him as saying: “‘”You can see that Julian Ryerson is a Viking. That’s how he plays football. He doesn’t hold back, neither on himself nor on the opponent, and he generates a lot of drive going forward.'”
It would certainly be an interesting addition. There is one problem, though.
Julian Ryerson is more Jeremie Frimpong than Conor Bradley
Frimpong will be playing more in defence as a result of Bradley being out.
He is that attacking profile, maybe the most extreme example you can find. Frimpong’s almost a winger even when starting at right-back.
How would you rate Liverpool’s signing of Jeremie Frimpong out of 10?
28-year-old Ryerson is cut from the same cloth, much more forward-thinking than someone like Bradley.

His defensive numbers don’t excite, and it feels risky to get even more attacking with the squad considering the defensive struggles of this season.
This one doesn’t make a whole lot of sense as a like-for-like of the Northern Irishman, but maybe Slot has just made up his mind that he wants his right-back high and wide.
