Liverpool faced off with Arsenal in a Premier League meeting in midweek, with Cody Gakpo featuring up front.
With Mohamed Salah still at the AFCON, Alexander Isak out long-term, and Hugo Ekitike injured, Arne Slot had limited attacking options to call upon for the clash.
In the end, the Liverpool manager started with a front three of Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.
Who was your Man of the Match during Liverpool’s battling draw with Arsenal?
Much better from the Reds today!
The trio had very little impact in the final third, however, but fans were especially unhappy with the Dutchman.
Gakpo dropped deep against Arsenal as Slot was clearly aiming to come away from the match with a point.
Liverpool supporters react to Cody Gakpo vs Arsenal
But despite his somewhat mixed defensive efforts, Gakpo still drew the ire of fans on Thursday.
One fan wrote: “Gakpo is so useless man when I watch Trossard.”
“Gakpo really worth losing your job over??? Slot whatever dirt Gakpo has on you, I promise we don’t care,” added a second.
Another stated: “Can’t defend Gakpo anymore, he produces poor output and has so many flaws.”
A fourth claimed: “Gakpo should never start any match again!”
“Hopefully Arsenal take Gakpo off soon, he’s been unreal for them,” joked a fifth, while another echoed: “Gakpo especially has been such a blessing for other teams.”
While another Liverpool fan was less than kind with their verdict: “Gakpo is absolutely horrific.”

It’s not the first time Gakpo has been criticised this season, with his predictability when playing off the left a real sticking point.
The former PSV man will, more often than not cut inside whenever he gets the ball in a decent position and shoot.
This means Milos Kerkez, who was playing better when Gakpo was injured, has less of an impact going forward.
Federico Chiesa was an option off the bench, but Slot prefers his fellow countryman to the Italian.
In turn, don’t expect much to change in the coming weeks, especially with Isak, who can also play off the left, out for a couple of months.
