Liverpool fans couldn’t be clearer about what they now want to happen with Arne Slot

FSG have kept their faith in Arne Slot after a difficult run of fixtures at the back end of 2025, but not much has changed on the pitch.

It’s easy to see why, on paper, those in a position of power at Anfield may think the Dutchman is turning things around.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last eight matches across all competitions and have managed to get themselves back into the Premier League top four.

Who was the most disappointing performer against Leeds?

The reality of the situation, however, is that the Reds have been helped out massively with some easier fixtures, and they are only in the Champions League places because other teams are starting to flounder.

In truth, Liverpool’s performances remain subpar, and things are expected to get even worse once Slot and co. have to face harder opponents, including league leaders Arsenal next week.

Liverpool fans want Arne Slot gone

Liverpool were dire against Wolves and Tottenham in recent matches, only securing wins because of the latter having two men sent off, and Rob Edwards’ side still searching for their first league win of the campaign.

Now, following the 0-0 draw with Leeds this week, fans have been discussing Slot on Rousing The Kop’s TalkingPoints platform.

And the majority have made it clear that they believe Slot is not up to the task of truly turning things around.

One fan wrote: “In all honesty, he needs to go! He has no passion, no plan B it’s plan A, even if it’s not working, no creativity and no intensity! What the hell are we paying him for? It’s like he wants to run our beloved LFC into the ground. Substitutions, I called at half-time.”

“Just doesn’t look up to it at the moment. Can’t really argue too much with team selections, but in-game changes make it feel like there’s no plan at all. Hard to see any kind of style of play that isn’t basically pass the other team to death,” added a second.

Another stated: “Liverpool are wasting the season with him, could have used this week to actually get back in the title race but no…”

A fourth simply stated: “Get him gone,” while another suggested some of the blame should be put on the club: “I was really disappointed. However, this result comes from not only Slot but also the directors. Squad is still unbalanced after they paid £450m in this summer. They should’ve bought more!”

“I think the football is so slow and very easy to work out. Also there is no press at all. We’ve just gone from one of the most exciting teams in world football to an average mid-level team within 12 months. Last season we still had the Klopp football. He’s got to go!!!” Demanded a sixth.

A seventh added: “Watching the mighty Liverpool game under Slot is so disappointing, poor tactics, playing players out of position, means Liverpool is too big for Slot.”

While another Reds supporter wrote: “Dull, no plan B, and as history shows, I can’t ever remember a decent Dutch coach.”

Will Liverpool actually sack Arne Slot

The consensus is clear, and the fans have spoken; they have no faith in Slot actually being able to get Liverpool back to the level we saw in 2024/25.

However, the reality of the situation is that at present, it seems unlikely the Dutchman will be removed from his post.

FSG were reluctant to part ways in 2025 during a run of three wins from 12 in all competitions.

Since then, Liverpool have started to pick up more points. Are they anywhere close to matching the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City? No. But supporters should be well aware that FSG are never quick to dismiss a manager, and while it’s probably not the right call, we will likely see Slot remain in a job until the summer.
