There has been talk within the fanbase about Arne Slot being replaced in the dugout this term.
Meanwhile, though they did beat Thomas Frank’s side last time out, Liverpool’s performance against Tottenham was poor, which left fans displeased.

How Liverpool can salvage their 2025/26 season
How can Liverpool do this? Well, former midfielder Steven Gerrard has now told the Reds exactly what they must do to get back to their best.
Speaking on The Smith Brothers Podcast, he said: “Every time my form dipped, it wasn’t necessarily technical ability that got my form back.
“It was about going where it hurts. Like, just trying to outrun someone more runs into the box, winning more tackles, winning more duels.
“And all the technical stuff and me form came back on the back of that.
“And that’s where Liverpool are now. Liverpool, the way they’re going to get the form back is doing all the basics and the ugly stuff better.”

We are now nearly at the halfway point of the season, and Liverpool are 10 points behind league leaders Arsenal.
It’s a deficit that can be overturned in 2026, but it would require something special from the Reds for that to happen.
At worst, a top-four finish should be the target for the current champions, and if they beat Wolves on Saturday, they could climb above fourth-place Chelsea, who they are only behind via goal difference.
A Champions League place could be enough to keep Slot in a job beyond 2025/26, but finishing outside the European places altogether should surely spell the end for the Dutchman.
For the time being at least, however, FSG seem to be backing the 47-year-old to turn things around at Anfield.
