Alan Sugar wants former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp back in the Premier League with Tottenham

Jurgen Klopp has been linked with many jobs despite being out of managerial work since leaving Liverpool.

Klopp’s name has been thrown around with regard to the Liverpool job as of late, but with Arne Slot looking like he might be turning things around, it seems more unlikely than ever.

That does not mean many other clubs would not want him, though, but prising him away from his role at Red Bull might prove tricky.

Gut feeling, has Mohamed Salah played his last game for Liverpool? If yes, how do you feel about it?

Some may still try, however, and Lord Alan Sugar has urged Tottenham to go out and get him, even if it does seem highly unlikely.

It was only this season that Spurs got a new manager after bringing Thomas Frank to the club from Brentford, an appointment that looked rather astute at the time.

His style of play has not gone down too well, though, with there being a lack of attacking prowess, something Klopp would certainly be able to change.

The former Spurs chairman, Sugar, has also urged his old club to hire the German, believing that it would be a guaranteed success.

“With the massive fortune of the Lewis family it would be a win win situation if they hired Jurgen Klopp in January. Loads of money for players and a great manager. Who agrees?” he wrote on X.

The Spurs fans in the comments clearly agree but know it is very unrealistic, with Klopp very happy as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer.

Jurgen Klopp has already said he will never manage another Premier League team

Even if Spurs fans had a tiny glimmer of hope about getting Klopp, the German himself has already ruled himself out of the role, and any other Premier League job for that matter.

“What I know definitely – I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100 per cent,” Klopp said back in 2024 when leaving Liverpool, as per BBC Sport.

“That’s not possible. My love for this club, my respect for the people is too big. I couldn’t. I couldn’t for a second think about it. There’s no chance.”

So, a job abroad or a return to Liverpool appears to be his only route back into management, with the latter something Reds fans will really want if Slot cannot turn the ship around.
