Mohamed Salah opted to speak to the media straight after Liverpool’s draw with Leeds while his teammates were barely out of the dressing room.

If the Reds were not in a bit of a crisis before, they certainly are now as Salah’s public call-out of manager Arne Slot shows that there is a big issue behind closed doors.

The Egyptian was an unused substitute again against Leeds, something that he did not like one bit, which is why he let it all out, but in the wrong way.

He might not have any regrets about it, but he has certainly let himself, but more importantly, his teammates down, although they might not have reacted the way many fans would have expected.

Liverpool’s players saw Mohamed Salah’s outburst coming

Salah is, and always will be, a Liverpool great, and it must be so hard playing a bit-part role after being the star man for so many years.

However, his performances this season have not warranted starting every game, with this one of the reasons he was wrong to shift all the blame onto his manager.

His interview certainly sent the media and fans into meltdown as they perhaps did not realise quite how bad things were, but according to The Athletic, the players knew it was coming.

They reported that the Liverpool players could sense an immediate change in Salah’s mood when he found out on Friday that he was not starting against Leeds

They were said to have known that he would publicly vent his anger sooner rather than later, meaning that there was no sense of shock when they heard his comments on Saturday night.

The fact this has probably been brewing ever since he was first dropped says a lot about his performances, with the Leeds game being the tipping point.

Mohamed Salah needs to leave Liverpool

How much should Liverpool be looking to sell Mohamed Salah for?

Not only does Salah need to leave Liverpool for the sake of his own career, but it is clear he has to so Liverpool can move forward.

The fact the players knew he was going to react like this is not exactly a good look, with it very much showing that he is not a team player.

Of course, he will want to play as many games as possible and be the star man once again, but his performances have not been as good as those who have replaced him, so he should not just expect to go into the starting XI.

He has been a legend and always will be one, but it might be best for him to move on before he says or does anything else that could tarnish his image a little more.
