Liverpool look set to continue ahead with Arne Slot for the time being despite a hellish couple of months.
The Reds season hit another new low on Wednesday as they suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat at the hands of PSV Eindhoven.
Liverpool have now lost nine of their past 12 matches, a record as bad as anything they have served up since 1953.

Clearly, Slot is under pressure, but as journalist Lewis Steele reports on Thursday, he will remain in charge at Anfield for now.
While that is good news for the Dutchman, he should not mistake this for confirmation that he will stay with the Reds indefinitely. After some worrying comments Slot made in the wake of Wednesday’s loss, it seems he may need an awakening to the trouble he is in.

Although Slot cut a desolate figure at the end of Wednesday’s match, he was arguably a little more upbeat than he perhaps should have been while speaking to the press post game.
“I am feeling safe, I am okay, I have got a lot of support from above,” Slot told the press. “It would be nice to turn it around and get a victory of course, but if you are working as a coach and not doing well then it is normal that questions are asked.”
If any Liverpool manager is feeling safe after losing so many matches in such an appalling fashion, then there is something fundamentally wrong.
Slot deserves some patience for the manner in which he unexpectedly delivered a Premier League title last season, but that wears thin when you’re losing by three every game.
In reality, the former Feyenoord boss should be absolutely fearing the axe any day. He should be working double, triple hard to turn things around instead of casually declaring his job security. Frustratingly Steele reports that Slot, his staff and players will enjoy a day off on Friday. Sickening.
As with his demeanour from the minute things started going wrong for Liverpool this season, Slot is not inspiring confidence with his words.

Slot is anything but safe at Liverpool
The Liverpool owners are generally patient people, and as a club the Reds do not like to sack managers unduly.
But Slot should make no mistake, if he was in charge of any other Premier League club, he’d have been sacked already.
He may feel safe, but there is only so long you can fail to deliver so spectacularly at Liverpool. The time for change is coming.
The only way Slot turns this around now is if he wins each of Liverpool’s next four or five matches, and performances markedly improve.
It really is Hail Mary time now for the 47-year-old. Rather than feeling safe, he has to understand that he is now right on the very edge. It won’t take much to give him that fatal push.
