Didi Hamann gives verdict on how long Arne Slot has before Liverpool sack him

The biggest talking point at Liverpool right now surrounds Arne Slot’s future.

The Dutchman is in unfamiliar territory at the moment as his side have lost eight of their last 11 games, with performances nowhere near the levels they should be.

They do not show any signs of improving either, with this being why Slot’s future is being questioned by many people.

The majority of Liverpool fans on RTK voted for him to be sacked, but he still remains firmly in the job, for now at least.

Former Liverpool player Didi Hamann has given his verdict on the situation, though, suggesting how long he thinks Slot has before he is relieved of his duties.

Didi Hamann believes Liverpool’s next two games will be key

The Reds’ fixtures, on paper at least, get a little bit easier from here on in, so they really should start picking up results.

They face PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League before travelling to West Ham on Sunday, with Hamann believing that these two matches will be very telling signs.

“I don’t think anybody wants to see him leave because of what he’s done last season,” he told talkSPORT.

“Obviously, the run of form is very bad at the moment. I think what you want to see as a club is progress. The next two games will be telling.

“Alan [Brazil] just said they’ve got to win both games, I agree because we don’t need to talk about the title now.

“I think they’ve (Liverpool) got a fight on their hands to finish in the top four. If you don’t see progress in the Premier League, I think his time will come to an end, as it will be with everybody else.”

The Reds are already 11 points off league-leaders Arsenal and sit in the bottom half of the table, so if results do not improve pretty swiftly, their season could be over before the new year.

Arne Slot will likely be given a maximum of eight games

Although the next two matches could be mightily important for his future, if Liverpool’s form fluctuates, then the next eight games could be the timeline he has to work in.

This is how many matches they have left before 2026, with this including six Premier League matches and two Champions League.

Half of these are at Anfield too, meaning they really should be wins, suggesting that a minimum of 12 points is needed to keep his job.

Slot is certainly under a bit of pressure but if he gets it right now, then there is still plenty of time to keep his job long term.
