Mohamed Salah and Steven Gerrard were spotted having a massive hug after the full-time whistle in Liverpool’s game against Aston Villa.

Saturday’s 2-0 win at Anfield was the first time since 20 September that Liverpool have managed to win a Premier League game.

Of course, there have been the odd victories here and there in other competitions, but the fact that they went four games without a top-flight win was massively concerning.

However, they’ve evidently managed to pull through and, as long as they keep their performance levels to this standard, they should get back into the Premier League title race.

It was clear how much Liverpool’s win meant to everyone, with both Salah and Gerrard sharing their excitement with each other at the end of the clash.

Liverpool’s next Premier League win has been a long time coming.

There have been times when the Reds have been beaten over the last few weeks when they didn’t deserve to lose, and there have also been times when they’ve just not been up to scratch.

However, on Saturday, Liverpool’s true colours shone through with the Anfield outfit proving they still have what it takes to be competitive.

And, at the end of the game, it was obvious how much it meant to everyone involved with the club as a BBC journalist spotted Salah and Gerrard embracing one another as the game came to an end.

Salah has performed fairly poorly for Liverpool this season.
