Arne Slot has revealed Ryan Gravenberch is in contention to face Aston Villa on Saturday in Liverpool’s Premier League game.
The Dutch player has not played due to an injury problem, which he picked up during the 2-1 Manchester United loss at Anfield two weeks ago.
Gravenberch has been an integral part of Liverpool’s success this season, and confirmation from the boss that he has been in training yesterday and will do so today is a positive sign.
This Liverpool side has been struggling with injuries so far, with another added to the list when Curtis Jones was subbed off in the 3-2 defeat to Brentford at the weekend.
Speaking at the press conference on Friday, Slot also spoke about the fitness of Alexander Isak and Jones and if they are in contention to start this weekend.

Ryan Gravenberch in contention, Alexander Isak and Curtis Jones ‘99.9%’ not in team
Isak and Jones will not be available for the game on Saturday against Unai Emery’s team in a bitter blow to the Dutchman’s choices in his starting XI.
The Swedish striker was subbed off in the 5-1 Eintracht Frankfurt game at halftime with a groin injury, being replaced by Federico Chiesa.

These two will have to be on the sidelines along with Alisson Becker and Jeremie Frimpong in terms of first-team players who have picked up serious injuries.
During the presser, Slot explained the situation: “Ryan trained yesterday, Isak and Jones didn’t yet.
“Timescale? I said many times, the end phase of the injury, things can go slow or faster. Let’s wait and see where they are. Ryan trained yesterday and is with us today and we’ll make the call if he can start. The other two 99.9% not in the squad.”
The news of Gravenberch’s fitness will be brilliant for fans, but there are still fears with the form Liverpool are in that the other two injuries pose a risk to their form continuing to slip.
There were no fresh injuries for fans to worry about as the Reds look to end their run of four straight defeats in the top-flight.
