Stephen Warnock is bang on about Milos Kerkez after what he did in Liverpool’s defeat to Crystal Palace

Milos Kerkez hasn’t really had a good game for Liverpool since joining in the summer transfer window.

Many expected the left-back to be a massive upgrade on Andy Robertson, but in reality, it feels like the Scotsman has been the far better player when chosen to feature.

Both Kerkez and Robertson started for Liverpool in their Carabao Cup game against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, but since the latter of the two was played out of position, neither of them had a great game.

Arne Slot clearly still believes in the Hungarian; otherwise, he wouldn’t have spent £45million on him.

However, unless he can get a handle on his emotions and start taking things a bit slower, it’s hard to see a future for the left-back at Liverpool, with Stephen Warnock even admitting there’s no “calmness” about his game.

Kerkez’s attitude has been one of the main talking points about his playing style since he made the switch to Liverpool.

When playing for Bournemouth, he was one of the stars of the show, but now that he’s part of a massive team with world-class players in every position, it feels like he’s trying too hard to prove his worth.

And, while speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Warnock gave his thoughts on how the Hungarian played on Wednesday.

“With Milos Kerkez everything is 100mph at the moment. There is no calmness about him,” he said.

Arne Slot has a lot of decisions to make about Liverpool over the next month or so

If you exclude Liverpool beating Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 in the Champions League, October has been one of the Anfield outfit’s worst-ever months for performances.

Last season, the Reds were close to unstoppable, with many thinking that the arrival of players such as Kerkez and Alexander Isak would only make them stronger.

And, while that’s been the case for the odd game here and there, more often than not, the Reds’ poor form has shone through.

Unless Slot can figure out the best way to line his team up and how to get the best out of players such as Mohamed Salah once again, things will only continue getting worse.

And to be honest, that’s not something Liverpool can afford to happen.
