Liverpool certainly need to go back to the drawing board after losing four on the bounce.

For many reasons, things just are not working out for the Reds right now, with fans starting to get a little worried.

Arne Slot will be deep in thought, wondering what he needs to change and just how bold he is prepared to go to get things back on track.

Whatever he decides, it is bound to rustle a few feathers, but if it benefits the team going forward, then it simply must be done.

Troy Deeney has also given his verdict on what he thinks the Dutchman might need to do, and he believes that one player in particular could be the answer to all his problems.

Federico Chiesa is the answer to Liverpool’s problems

Certain players just are not cutting it right now in a Liverpool shirt and that applies to stars who have shone for the Reds over so many years.

The obvious example of this is Mohamed Salah, with the Egyptian struggling for form and looking nowhere near the player the Premier League has seen since he arrived.

Whereas someone like Federico Chiesa has impressed every time he has come off the bench, with many wondering why he is not given more opportunities to start.

Deeney, though, believes that the Italian could be the player to get Liverpool out of this mess, claiming that he adds something very different.

“I do think you need somebody like a Luis Diaz, a Sadio Mane or Chiesa, somebody that is like direct, fast, runs around, but puts the team first,” he said on The Football Exchange.

“I think what you’ve got now, and this was the bit that got me got people angry at the weekend, Salah wants to score first, Isak wants to score first, and so does Ekitike and Gakpo.

“You know, you start going into these people that are all ‘score first’ people. You need somebody that’s like a Cole Palmer in there that’s like, “Okay, cool. I don’t mind. I’m going to score, but I’m also going to let you guys score.”

Federico Chiesa must get more chances

So far, Chiesa has been limited to just minutes off the bench, sometimes not even getting that and having to watch from afar.

But now, given the form he is in, and the form Salah is not in for that matter, he must get more minutes and, if anything, start more often than not.

He adds directness, work rate and an end product to the team, all things that will help the Reds’ problems at both ends of the pitch.

He should start the game against Eintracht Frankfurt regardless, but he should also be in line to play against Brentford at the weekend, with his patience now deserving of a genuine opportunity.
