Tim Sherwood says Arne Slot keeps doing something that’s making his job harder at Liverpool

Arne Slot has a big problem on his hands right now that, so far, he has not had a solution for.

The Reds are going through an incredibly tough period right now but do not have much time to think about things due to how thick and fast fixtures are coming at them.

Defensively they have been poor, they have been far too open in midfield and their attack is not firing on all cylinders, showing just how many issues they have.

Slot is the only man who can solve these, though, with the Dutchman needing to do it sooner rather than later before serious questions are starting to be asked of him.

However, there is one thing that Tim Sherwood believes that he is doing that is only making things harder, with teams using this to their advantage.

Arne Slot is telling teams how to play against Liverpool

Managers often like to keep their cards close to their chest, ensuring that their tactics or weakness cannot be exposed.

Slot used to do this last season, but ever since things have started going wrong, he has been a little more open in the things he discloses.

One of them is that he has admitted Liverpool struggled against teams who do not attack them, something Sherwood believes only gives them further incentive to sit back even more.

“Does it worry you that Arne Slot is talking about the opposition all the time, low blocks, long throws, being direct?” Sherwood said on Sky Sports News.

“The more he tells people he isn’t comfortable against teams playing like that, the more people will play that way.

“I think he thinks he’s criticising, I’m not sure what the motive is, but he needs to stand back and think about it a bit.”

Liverpool cannot cope with the demands of the Premier League right now

The Premier League is constantly evolving, with teams finding new ways to get ahead of their opponents with new systems and tactics.

However, this year is a little different as many clubs have reverted back to things like long ball and throw-ins, with there a big emphasis on aerial prowess.

Liverpool, however, are not built for this and their old tactics no longer work with the players they have, meaning Slot needs to go back to the drawing board.

Opposition analysts seem to know Liverpool’s weaknesses rather easily too, with these being exploited week after week, highlighting how change is desperately needed.
