Liverpool supporters are reeling after watching their team deliver a fourth successive defeat on Sunday.
Not only did the Reds drop another three points in the Premier League title race, they did so against their most bitter of rivals: Manchester United.
Given the emotional nature of Sunday’s loss, some supporters have been starting to voice concern on social media over Arne Slot‘s position as Liverpool head coach.
It should be said that Liverpool are unlikely to sack Slot. The Reds are well-known for giving managers reasonable time at the helm, and after the Dutchman delivered a Premier League title in his debut season, some may even see him as untouchable.
However, with performances and results starting to become untenable, Rousing The Kop asked Liverpool fans on Facebook how they would feel if Slot were given the boot. Gathering the results, it is safe to say that the 47-year-old does not currently have universal support.
Some Liverpool fans happy to see the back of Arne Slot
Asking the simple question of how fans would feel to hear that Slot had been sacked at Liverpool, RTK received more than 200 responses within the first hour.
“It would be the best news I have heard all day,” said one fan, with another adding: “I will be the most very happy on earth I swear.”
“They gave him all he wanted and he is proving nothing,” someone else chimed in, with yet more suggesting that they are not totally convinced.

“Very much OK!! And bring back Klopp, this is business it’s not [the] Dutch league, it’s competitive!!” said one fan. Relieved,” added another. “It would be the best thing to do for the club and the club comes first.”
“Can totally see why Liverpool went 30 years without winning the title, just by reading the comments here,” one more frustrated supporter replied. “The guy’s just had £400m worth of talent, of which includes two record signings, dumped on a title winning squad. I’d sack him if we’re out of the running by Christmas. Kiss goodbye to FSG ever investing like that again if things aren’t turned around fast.”
“The team is in a mess not sure if he knows how to fix [it],” was another’s view. “At times he is not bold enough to drop certain players. If this continues unfortunately he’s going to be sacked.”
“I’m starting to think that Slot’s first season success has gone to his head, he needs to get back to work and prove himself again,” one more fan concluded.
Many Liverpool supporters hoping Slot is given time
Although there were those frustrated voices who were happy for Slot to be given the boot, on balance there were more fans who came out in defence of the former Feyenoord boss.
“The terrain always has valleys and hills and surely flat areas. The tide has changed direction but will certainly come back. Too early to start such talks. YNWA,” one supporter philosophically commented.
“[I would feel] that the board had lost their minds,” someone else added. “Slot is here for the long haul. We are in transition. True Reds will back him. Patience is all that’s required.”

“It’s hard to sack someone who won the Premier league the year before. Give him time to defend the title,” was another’s view.
“No way guys why do you want him out, he won us the league just last season,” one more fan suggested. “After three league defeats you want to replace him, with who? Remember at Klopp’s farewell what he said: “you keep on believing.”
“Too soon. Need to give him time to find the solution,” said another Slot backer. “If we lose a few more in a row there may be a decision to make but I still believe he is the right manager for us.”
