Liverpool players returned from international duty and got back to business on Merseyside on Friday ahead of Sunday’s clash with Man United.

The Reds are badly in need of a turn-around in the Premier League having lost their last two matches to late deciding goals.

United could offer the perfect opposition, and there’s little doubt that Anfield will be rocking as the Red Devils come to town.

Arne Slot has a number of issues to resolve in his Liverpool squad ahead of the game, with Friday offering him another chance to iron out some of those problems.

As the Liverpool players took to the pitches in Kirkby and the LFCTV cameras captured their every move for ‘Inside Training‘, here are three things Rousing The Kop noticed about Friday’s session.

Ibrahima Konate is definitely not injured

Ibrahima Konate has been causing Liverpool fans plenty of concern this season with some incredibly patchy performances.

A new worry emerged over the centre-back during the international break, after he was forced to drop out of the France squad with a suspected injury.

However, Slot gave a positive update on Konate in his morning press conference, and that was reaffirmed by the sight of the defender taking part in Liverpool’s session later in the day.

Konate did not look to be carrying any sort of knock, even scoring several goals during the videoed portion of training.

Despite his up-and-down form, that is definitely a positive for Liverpool ahead of Sunday. Ryan Gravenberch also looked to take part with no ill effects.

Federico Chiesa continues to look sharp

One of the few players who did not join up with their nations in October was Federico Chiesa, who was once again left out of the Italy squad.

Chiesa has looked a different player this season, and is reportedly in the frame to return for his country, but having told manager Gennaro Gattuso that he is not 100 per cent fit, the Italian stayed behind on Merseyside.

That looks to be paying off for Chiesa, with Friday’s session another glimpse into the sharpness returning to his game.

One moment saw him sell a dummy to Florian Wirtz, before expertly leaving Conor Bradley on the ground and firing into the net.

Though he is unlikely to start against United, Chiesa looks ready to make an impact from the bench.

Liverpool squad in good spirits

The mood amongst the Liverpool fanbase is not especially good right now. Three losses on the bounce in all competitions has people worried for the rest of the season.

However, they should be buoyed to see that the mood at the Liverpool training ground appears to be the complete opposite.

There was much hilarity during the 16-minute clip, with the biggest cheers coming when the winning team was declared at the end of the session.

Under-fire players such as Wirtz and Alexander Isak looked happy and relaxed, hopefully blocking out the noise surrounding their beginnings at Liverpool.

United represent the ideal opposition for Wirtz, Isak and the other struggling members of the team to get their season back on track.
