Fabio Borini joined Liverpool during a time when things weren’t going all that well.
Although it wasn’t entirely the attacker’s fault, his time at Anfield wasn’t the most memorable as he only contributed to six goals in 38 games.
Brendan Rodgers actually spent £11 million on the Italian to make Borini the first signing of his Liverpool stint.
And, after the Italian was with the club for two campaigns, he ended up spending a season out on loan with Sunderland, and then he eventually joined them permanently.

Since then, the 34-year-old has bounced around several other clubs, with the attacker finally landing himself a new team after starting the season as a free agent.
Fabio Borini has joined Salford City
In what felt like a completely out-of-the-blue transfer, Borini is now a Salford City player.
The club shared that the once-capped Italian international has been training with the League 2 outfit for the last week or so.
Although he’s only just signed on, the Italian will be available for selection in Salford’s game against Oldham on Saturday, with manager Karl Robinson likely hoping his new star signing will be able to earn them a few extra points.
At the moment, the Ammies are ninth in the table with a win on Saturday taking them as high as third, if other results go their way.
This move is a rather large fall from grace for the attacker who was just playing Serie B football last term.
Fabio Borini’s last two seasons in statistics
Over the years, there have been moments when it’s felt like Borini may actually live up to his potential, despite his poor form at Liverpool.
However, after the performances he put in at Sampdoria over the last couple of campaigns, it’s not a surprise to see why the Italian outfit didn’t want to extend his stay.
All in all, the attacker played 38 games, scored 10 goals, and chipped in with three assists for his teammates.

While this would be a more than impressive return for a central midfielder, the fact that the vast majority of his games were played at striker means that his returns are likely to be a cause for concern.
Indeed, League 2 is probably a step down from Serie B, so he should end up thriving for Salford, but, if his last few stints in England are anything to go by, he might not have as much of an impact as Robinson is hoping.
Despite leaving Liverpool 10 years ago, Borini has always been full of praise for the Anfield outfit, with the attacker even saying that Mohamed Salah was the best player in the Premier League last term.
