Liverpool have been rather involved in the transfer market over the last few years.
Several academy graduates, such as Tyler Morton, have been moved on, but the 2025-26 window actually saw several players join Liverpool, rather than them just leaving.
However, due to the sheer amount of talent that Liverpool have coming through their ranks, many players who the Reds likely thought had plenty of potential have had to be sold.
This means that Jarell Quansah has a buy-back clause included in his Bayer Leverkusen deal, with sell-on clauses now also being a major part of Liverpool’s transfer model.

However, after what Brendan Rodgers has just said about Bobby Clark’s future, it seems like Liverpool have just taken a bit of a hit financially.
Brendan Rodgers shuts down rumours of Celtic making a £6m move for Bobby Clark
Over the last few days, rumours of Clark making a £6million move to Celtic emerged.
This comes just two years after the Englishman was sold to RB Salzburg when Pep Ljinders took over as manager.
The midfielder had a tough time of it in Austria, with his season at Salzburg being the first time that they didn’t win the league in 10 years.
He now plays for Derby, and due to his recent upturn in form, speculation has emerged about his future with Liverpool’s interest being piqued due to the 17.5 per cent sell-on clause they have on the youngster.
However, the rumours have been quickly shut down by Rodgers, who claims he has no idea where they emerged from.
“It’s one that’s come from a long way out,” he said to Sky Sports.
“I wouldn’t normally say anything on anything, but I really don’t know where that has come from at all. Especially in October.”
Liverpool still have their eggs in a few baskets regarding players that they’ve moved on
As mentioned, Liverpool have been rather busy transfer-wise over the last few years.
And, even though Florian Wirtz hasn’t met expectations just yet, it feels like it’s only going to be a matter of time before it all clicks.
Others, such as Harvey Elliott and Quansah, also have certain clauses in their deals which benefit Liverpool.
Of course, the amount of money that the Anfield outfit may receive from these deals will be minimal to a club of Liverpool’s stature, but the fact that it’s there is what matters.

Liverpool are set to face Manchester United on Sunday, with Arne Slot hoping that his men can prevail against their rivals in their Premier League clash.
If not, some serious questions will have to be asked, such as whether selling Morton was the best idea, especially when Liverpool were already thin in the centre of the park.
