Micah Richards has been full of praise for Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian King has forever etched his name into the Anfield history books due to the number of things he’s achieved while playing for the Reds.

Salah has not only won two Premier League titles with Liverpool, but he’s also broken several records during his time in L4.

His longevity has been second-to-none, with fans likely not wanting to know where they’d be without the former Chelsea man among their ranks.

However, it’s not his trophies or records that Richards has lauded him for; instead, it’s for how pristine he’s managed to keep his physique and condition.

Micah Richards says Mohamed Salah looks like he could be a model

Salah has always been a model professional, and the fact that he’s 33 but still one of Liverpool’s best players proves that.

This term, things have started a bit slowly for the Egyptian King, but with so much of the campaign left to go, there’s no reason that things can’t turn around.

One thing that hasn’t changed about the attacker, though, is his conditioning.

The Egypt international is arguably one of Liverpool’s fittest players, with Richards admitting that his physique is so impressive that he could be a model.

“He looks like some sort of model, doesn’t he? He looks like an Adonis. I don’t know what he’s eating, I don’t know what he’s doing, but he’s always looking after himself, similar to players like James Milner,” he said on The Rest is Football Podcast.

“I don’t know if you’ve seen him in the gym. Looks really good. It just shows the players who look after themselves, have the longevity, don’t they?”

Micah Richards has admitted that Mohamed Salah slowing down hasn’t made him play any worse

Now that he’s getting into the latter end of his professional career, Liverpool are going to have to start developing succession plans for when he finally leaves Anfield.

Salah chose to extend his Liverpool stay until the summer of 2027 and, unless anything changes, the 2026-27 season could be the last time we see the Egyptian in a Liverpool kit.

This means that Liverpool’s recent Bradley Barcola links need to be taken seriously as they’ll need a world-class talent to replace their star man.

Although Salah is still among the Premier League’s best players, the fact that he isn’t as sharp as he used to be is obvious, but despite this, Richards doesn’t think it’s affected his overall game that much.

“Yes, he’s still quick, but he’s not as sharp as he was maybe five or six years ago, but he positions himself in real clever positions on the field where he can still get his shot away,” he said.

“How many times have we had Salah in our Fantasy Football? And you just think, he’s not had a great game.

“Is he going to get a chance? But he’s always there. He always creates a chance for himself.

“His movement is just amazing on the field, even when he’s not having a good game.”

Luckily for Liverpool, there’s still likely plenty of time before Salah hangs up his boots.

And, although he may not have been as important this season, there’s still plenty of time and plenty of competitions for the best side of the Egyptian to come out.
