Arne Slot defied the odds last season and managed to win the Premier League title at the first time of asking.
The Dutchman was expected to be taking the Reds through a transition stage for a season or two, but instead, he came out all guns blazing and managed to do what nobody thought possible.
Mohamed Salah had the best season of his career with 57 goal contributions, which likely helped, but now that they have Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, it should be much easier for them to win.
However, due to the team not being able to gel properly due to the amount of change that has occurred, they’ve now lost three games on the bounce across all competitions.

This, after spending over £450million on new players, is a massive concern with Sam Allardyce now firing a warning Slot’s way.
Sam Allardyce thinks Liverpool may end up in ‘trouble’ this season
One of the main questions that people were asking in the summer was how Liverpool were able to afford all of these transfers.
But, after selling over £200million worth of players, it’s not all that surprising to see that a vast amount of change occurred.
However, since so much money has been spent, many expected them to run away with the league, with Allardyce even saying that the Reds were “no better” than they were last season.
“The trouble is they’ve spent all this money and they’re no better,” he said on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast.
“When I’ve talked about doing too much too soon before, finishing higher in the Premier League than you should do. You’ve beaten all the odds, and if you fall below that in the next season, then you’re no good again.
“So, he’s spent all that money and then the word starts ‘oo we spent all this money and we’re no better’”
Liverpool need to return from the international break with a bang
The fact that Manchester United will be the first team that Liverpool face upon their return from the international break will either be a really good thing or a really bad thing.
Before the break, it looked like the Reds had no plan or vision about how to get out of this rut they find themselves in.
Isak, Wirtz, Salah, and even Cody Gakpo have all performed well below their usual standard this season, with Hugo Ekitike the only attacker actually doing his part.

Despite the Anfield outfit’s poor form, the fact that Man United are likely in a far worse position than they are will no doubt give Liverpool some confidence.
At the moment, it’s unclear who Slot will choose to start the game with, but, unless they come back with a bang on Sunday, it feels unlikely that they’ll be challenging for the Premier League title by the end of the season.
