Liverpool have performed well below par over the last 10 days or so.
Their start to the 2025-26 season was more than impressive, with Arne Slot leading his men to a five-game Premier League winning streak.
However, their last three games across all competitions have ended in a defeat for Liverpool, which is far from ideal.
Most fans expect Liverpool to run away with the Premier League title this season, but, even though they beat Arsenal 1-0, the Gunners have still made their way to the top of the table.
A lot of this poor form is due to the lack of fight that their players are showing, with Mohamed Salah being a shadow of his former self in most games.

However, Paul Scholes believes that the Egypt international isn’t the only one to blame.
Paul Scholes says that Alexis Mac Allister hasn’t been able to control games for Liverpool this season
Last season, Alexis Mac Allister was one of Liverpool’s most important players.
The centre-midfielder helped Slot’s men earn plenty of points while also allowing them to control most of the games they played.
Liverpool were one of the most dominant teams in England last term, and while they may still be second in the Premier League at the moment, their recent form has been concerning, with Mac Allister failing to perform at his usual standards.
And now, while speaking on The Overlap’s Fan Debate, Scholes has shared his thoughts on Mac Allister and has said that he’s as much to blame for Liverpool’s poor form as Salah is.
“Well, Salah’s an obvious one for now, but I thought Mac Allister was brilliant last season. I think he really controlled lots of games, didn’t he?” he said.
“Just, he hasn’t, he’s been in and out, I mean, like you say, with signing players, it’s probably fried his head a little bit, and he’s not really sure what’s what at the minute.”
Liverpool’s players must come back after the international break with a spring in their step
There’s no hiding from the fact that Liverpool won’t win the Premier League if they don’t turn their form around.
Their games against Crystal Palace and Chelsea ended in defeats due to last-minute goals that were scored by their opponents.
Even with this in mind, there were several moments throughout both clashes when Liverpool could have come out of the game on top, but players such as Salah and Cody Gakpo failed to convert their chances.
Now that the international break is upon us, it’s a perfect chance for the Reds’ first-team squad to reset and come back better than ever.

Usually, these international breaks are hated by fans, but this time around, it feels like fans are actually happy that it’s come around so quickly.
Here’s hoping that, after representing their countries, Liverpool’s players come back to the AXA Training Centre ready to win.
