Liverpool will be looking to add another win to their Champions League campaign on Tuesday evening.

The Reds ended up losing their Premier League winning streak against Crystal Palace on Saturday, thanks to a last-minute winner from Eddie Nketiah.

Despite this defeat being far from ideal, it feels like Liverpool’s main goal this season will be the Champions League, especially since they were knocked out in the round of 16 last term.

Although they beat Atletico Madrid on 17 September, there’s still more that could come from the Anfield outfit, and, ahead of their game against Galatasaray on 30 September, it feels like they could have a secret weapon up their sleeve.

Before taking over John Heitinga’s role as Slot’s assistant manager, Giovanni van Bronckhorst had actually been in charge of several teams himself.

His main era of success came with Rangers when he got the Scottish outfit all the way to the Europa League final.

Since then, he’s managed in Turkey, which James Pearce says Slot will try to use to his advantage in Tuesday’s game.

“Slot says he’s been drawing on Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s experience of Turkish football ahead of tomorrow’s game,” he wrote via his personal X account.

Although Liverpool’s analysts can watch Galatasaray’s games and figure out how they play, there’s no better experience than being involved with something yourself.

Van Bronckhorst was the manager of Besiktas for some time and, since they’re rivals to Galatasaray, he’ll have likely spent hours watching them play.

This could be essential to Liverpool figuring out their weaknesses and the best way to beat them on the pitch, which is why Van Bronckhorst is their secret weapon.

Of course, the Reds’ team is far stronger than the Super Lig teams, but with players such as Victor Osimhen, Leroy Sane and Ilkay Gundogan among their ranks, they have a lot of potential to cause damage.

At the moment, it’s unclear what team Liverpool will choose to field, but, in reality, it would be a massive shock not to see Slot go with the strongest XI possible.
