Liverpool were one of the best teams in the Premier League last season.
The Reds managed to run away with the top-flight title without really breaking a sweat, and in the 2025-26 season, they’ll no doubt be looking to retain it.
In addition to the top-flight title, they’ll also want to make a better name for themselves in the Champions League after bowing out in the round of 16 last time around.
Last season’s Premier League win was the first time the Anfield outfit had won the title without Jordan Henderson as their captain.

And, while he’s now back in England with Brentford, he shared how he really felt about the Reds winning the title without him at the helm.
Jordan Henderson admits it was ‘very nice’ to see Liverpool win the Premier League title
Before Jurgen Klopp took over at Liverpool, there were many years when one of England’s biggest clubs failed to win all that much.
Although every club is likely to go through this phase once in a while, it felt like Liverpool’s went on for far too long.
However, when Klopp came in, things turned around massively with Arne Slot managing to carry on the German’s legacy and bring the title home at the first time of asking.
And, while speaking to Sky Sports, Henderson gave his thoughts on what it was like for him when Liverpool lifted the title.
“[It was] very nice actually, to be fair it was the first time I’d been back since I left,” he said.
“I went to watch the game vs Palace. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel, I didn’t know if I would be emotional, but when I went back I really enjoyed it, Jurgen was there, Stevie, I really enjoyed going back to see them and be there to lift it in front of the fans.”
Liverpool will be hoping to keep their solid run of form going this season
From an outsider’s perspective, the 2025-26 season has been close to perfect so far.
The Reds have managed to win all five of their opening Premier League games, with the club looking to extend that run against Palace on Saturday.
Although the Champions League will likely be Slot’s main goal this season, retaining the Premier League title will be a close second, with the Carabao Cup and FA Cup not all that important.

Of course, it would be nice to win those domestic competitions, but say, for instance, they get knocked out in the third or fourth round, it’s unlikely that fans will lose too much sleep over it.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but with the way things have panned out thus far, it looks likely to be another impressive season for Liverpool.
