Liverpool have spent over £400million trying to improve their ranks this summer.
Players such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz have been brought in to try and take the Anfield outfit to the next level.
This season, a lot of Arne Slot’s focus will likely be towards the Champions League, seeing as though the Reds only won the Premier League title last season.
However, with the amount of quality they now have among their ranks, there’s nothing stopping them from trying to win both.
Slot more or less has two players for every position except for his attack, but due to the versatility of players such as Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa, the former Feyenoord boss can change things up however he pleases.

This, while it might not seem like all that much, could be the difference between them coming away with the Premier League or the Champions League this term.
Micah Richards believes Alexander Isak will be used on the left wing at Liverpool
One of the main transfers to have occurred in the summer transfer window was Isak joining Liverpool.
Since the summer transfer window first opened in June, the Sweden international has been Slot’s number one target to lead his attacking line, with Eddie Howe even dubbing him an “incredible” striker.
The striker was one of the best in the Premier League last season, and with players such as Mohamed Salah and Wirtz now around him, it feels like he could become even better.
However, while speaking on the Rest is Football Podcast, Micah Richards shared that he thinks Isak could be used on the left wing on occasion by Slot this term.
“I’m going to tell you now, Isak is going to end up playing on the left in some games, like he did for Newcastle,” he said.
“And Isak loves that left-hand side anyway. And they’ve still got someone big and strong up front.
“Not always. Isak is going to be the number nine, isn’t he, going forward. But at times, Isak is going to play on the left instead of Gakpo.”
Alexander Isak could end up starting alongside Hugo Ekitike for Liverpool
Ever since Isak’s transfer was announced, questions have been asked about who is the most likely of Isak and Hugo Ekitike to start as Liverpool’s number nine.
At the moment, the answer is Ekitike due to Isak’s fitness levels, but as we get further into the season, that could easily be flipped on its head.
However, the fact that they can both be used as left-wingers if needed plays in their favour.
Because, although Slot has Rio Ngumoha to back up Gakpo, it’s clear that he doesn’t think he can start games each week; otherwise, he’d have given the Englishman a start already.

But if one or both of them get injured, the fact that their two strikers can also be put in on the left will really benefit them.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but for now, Ekitike needs to continue proving his worth to be able to fight for a starting spot in Slot’s team.
