Liverpool fans should not rule out ‘massive’ Federico Chiesa-esque signing late this summer

Federico Chiesa has become something of a cult hero during his short time with Liverpool.

The attacker finally managed to score his first-ever Premier League goal during the Reds’ 4-2 win versus Bournemouth, and he also made an appearance in their 3-2 win over Newcastle.

He may still be Mohamed Salah’s back-up this season, but the fact that he can be used on the right wing as well as a number nine makes him an invaluable member of Arne Slot’s first-team squad.

And, now that he’s decided to stay and fight for his place at Anfield this season, he has an entire campaign to prove his worth to Liverpool’s fans.

However, with the transfer deadline now edging closer, rumours of last-minute transfers have begun to surface with Slot’s men finding themselves involved in several conversations.

Liverpool could end up making a move for Dusan Vlahovic

On Wednesday, it was reported that Liverpool and AC Milan were both weighing up a potential move for “massive” Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

The Reds have been on the lookout for a new number nine to join their team for a while now, and since their move for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak seems to have stalled, their attention could be turned elsewhere.

Vlahovic has entered the final year of his contract with the Old Lady and, since the striker and the club can’t seem to come to an agreement to extend his stay, Igor Tudor is looking for a club to sign him.

As mentioned, Milan were interested in the Serbian, but now they’re on the cusp of adding Cristopher Nkunku to their ranks, it’s unlikely that they’ll make a move.

This then leaves a free run at the striker for Liverpool, who, for a fee worth less than £20million, could end up being a steal.

Dusan Vlahovic would be a solid transfer for Liverpool

There’s no hiding from the fact that Isak is still Slot’s number one target this summer.

Reports have emerged that Liverpool are now just waiting for Newcastle to sign a replacement to make their move.

However, with there being no agreement on the fee and there being less than five days left of the transfer window, it’s unclear whether the deal for the Sweden international will go through.

At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but with Vlahovic available for such a minimal fee this summer, his potential transfer gives off similar vibes to how Chiesa’s move came about.

And, if Vlahovic even has half the impact on the Reds’ fanbase that Chiesa has, the Serbian would be worth his weight in gold.
