Liverpool got their title defence underway but fans were left a little disappointed by some of their new signings.
Football is back and Reds fans up and down the country will have been more excited than ever to see how their new signings will fit in.
Arne Slot certainly went bold with his starting XI and selected four new recruits to start from the off, these being Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
Some did well, most notably Ekitike who scored the first goal of the new season and looked dangerous throughout, while others looked a little lacklustre.
Kerkez was the one in particular who stood out but not in a good way, with the Hungarian leaving fans a little perplexed by his performance.

The Reds needed a refresh in the full-backs for very different reasons, with a right-back needed to replace the outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold, while a new left-back was required due to Andy Robertson’s downturn in form.
Kerkez was the man brought in to replace the latter, with the 21-year-old one of the most exciting full-backs in the league last season.
However, his first start for Liverpool in the Premier League was a rather shaky one, with Reds fans left far from impressed.
One fan wrote: “The way Kerkez is moving we might see Robertson again this season. Just as excited he was for his move, he seems to play that same way on the pitch. Need to calm down and not dive into every challenge. Too eager.”
Another wrote: “Kerkez is a problem… he looks lost,” while another added: “Kerkez really needs to chill with the tackles.”

A fourth fan added: “Kerkez not at the races again,” with a fifth adding: “Kerkez is getting targeted by Bournemouth for obvious reasons.”
Another supporter wrote: “Semenyo is frying Kerkez…” while another suggests Robertson is better by saying: “Kerkez isn’t a Robertson upgrade…”
A final fan believes the Scotsman might get his place back after Kerkez’s performance, saying: “I wouldn’t be surprised to see Robertson regain his place after a few games. Kerkez has so much quality but it’s been a while I’ve seen such a jumpy and erratic 1 v 1 defender.”

Of course, nobody should be writing off a player after one game, but this is not the first time Kerkez has struggled.
The Hungarian was rather poor in the Community Shield and had looked a little shaky in pre-season too, with this game another one where he showed signs of weakness.
That being said, it might be wise for Slot to take Kerkez out of the team for the next game against Newcastle, with the experienced head of Andy Robertson maybe a wiser move to allow him to settle down a bit.
As many of the fans rightly pointed out, he looked a little erratic and eager to impress, something that he can learn to minimise with a short spell out of the team.
